Illumina International Leadership Academy is a conventional business serving executives, companies, and individuals who can afford market-rate leadership development.
For 25+ years, my team and I have built expertise that has value. Individuals and organizations pay for transformation that produces results. Leaders invest in their development at professional rates.
This model works. It's financially sustainable and serves important clients well.
But it doesn't serve everyone who needs this work.Â

Why I Founded a Non-Profit Association
Â
I kept encountering brilliant emerging leaders - founders building regenerative businesses, social innovators, young changemakers - who needed the WholeSpectrum Leadership training and the ongoing support of visionary mentors to do their pioneering work, but couldn't afford the programs.
Meanwhile, I knew that reaching the tipping point for systemic change requires developing many more illuminary future leaders. Most of those leaders won't be Fortune 500 executives. They'll be the 32-year-old starting a circular economy venture, the 28-year-old redesigning education, the 45-year-old transitioning from corporate to impact work.
Not everyone I wanted to support could access what I was offering.
I had three choices:
- Lower my prices (financially unsustainable, devalues the work)
- Keep serving only those who can pay (comfortable but limited impact)
- Create a parallel structure that enables scholarships, grants, and sponsorships (complex but aligned)
I chose option three.
